Susanne Richards
I have recently returned to painting, now being in my seventies, and find a normal resumé impossible to produce, so I will construct an outline of my creative life hoping it will suffice.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education, majoring in painting, and taught Art and allied subjects in Secondary Schools in Victoria for over twenty years. During that period I successfully participated in several group exhibitions and one solo.
I moved into the area of computer-generated art in the nineties and for the ten years prior to ‘retirement’ lectured in Computer Graphics at RMIT University, City Campus.
Since then I have continued to paint mainly commissioned works, some influenced by David Laity, and have sold successfully online to a gallery in Dallas, Texas. Also I have participated in shows with the RMIT Gallery, Ringwood Art Society, the Mount Evelyn Community Centre, and the YAVA Gallery in Healesville.
During the last three years I have spent time in the Kimberley region and have found inspiration and direction in the colours and atmosphere of the area.
I have been encouraged to share my experience with others by participating in exhibitions again.
